What to Expect for Your First Appointment

Altar Hair Salon initial curly hair appointments take, on average, about two to two-and-a-half hours. Your appointment will include:

  • Before & After Photos (Only Used Publicly With Your Permission)
  • Personalized Consultation
  • Dry Signature Curly Cut
  • Start-to-Finish, Hands-on Styling Lesson
  • Customized Curly Hair Care Product Recommendations
  • Optimal Curl Maintenance Recommendations

Preparing For Your Appointment

All curly hair clients must arrive at the salon with 100% dry hair within one day of being washed and styled with no products.

Please do not use or wear bobby pins, ponytails, headbands, rubber bands, hats, clips or anything else that will leave dents, marks or change your curl pattern in any way. Make sure your hair is detangled and free of any heavy oils, butters, or gels.

Cancellations and Schedule Changes

All curly hair cuts and services require a deposit which is paid for upon booking your service. This deposit is deducted from your final bill upon completion of services.

A 48-hour notice is required for any scheduled changes or cancellations. If notice is provided in less than 48 hours, you will not be refunded your deposit. If you do not show up for an appointment without notification, you will not be refunded your deposit.

Should you require to be rebooked due to the condition of your hair, you will be expected to pay for the scheduled services of your original appointment. If you arrive 5 minutes late for a 30-min appointment or 10 minutes late for any other service, you will be charged for the appointment and asked to reschedule out of respect for the next client’s time.

Cash, Card or Venmo are accepted forms of payment.

We love when parents and kids rock their curly hair! Children are welcome if they have an appointment, otherwise please schedule childcare for children during your appointment. The hands-on learning experience requires your full attention as well as your stylist. Adhering to this policy makes certain everyone receives the most from their appointment.

It is greatly appreciated if your cell phone is set to OFF, VIBRATE or SILENT during your appointment.
